The third and final baby blanket was the perfect project to keep my hands busy while ready the 7th HP book. I sat outside, Miles at my feet and read and knit. Pure bliss! I'm so sad that it's all over and done with - the books, not blankets!

I'm pleased wtih both blankets and will certainly knit more in the future. I gifted tfhe third blanket at a baby shower this weekend. I didn't get to see the mother open it (it was a couple's shower and they opened gifts afterward), but hopefully she'll was happy with it. I just need to make a date to gift the third and all the blankets will be in their happy homes.
I met the recipient of the first blanket this weekend--what a cutie! So cute, I raced home and told J how much I wanted one. [That feeling lasted just a few minutes.] The baby's mother tells me the blanket sits on her nursing chair and that she uses it just as much as the baby. Makes it all worth it! Because I couldn't go meet a brandy new baby empty-handed, I finished these booties I started way back in May. (They were originally supposed to accompany the blanket as the shower gift).
More fiberlicious fun for you. Megan's right, it's addicting. Soon, I'll break away from fruit.
Pattern Christine's Baby Booties
Yarn Dale Baby Ull in sage green, leftover from these
Needles Size 3 Addis

Comments I was worried these looked a bit "moon-booty," but they look better on baby feet. Phew. This pattern rules and it's free. What could be better?
With all my committments out of the way, I started on a long-awaited project - one I swatched for last summer and that's been sitting in my sidebar for months! Progress pics of Cherry soon to come.

- Great pattern, great blanket.
- I used larger gauge yarn, so my blankets came out a big larger than the original. I made sure to end each ball of yarn at the end of a row. Because of the thick, organic texture of the yarn, the weaving was really noticeable in a stockinette portion. The garter stitch hid them well, though.
- The yarn was a drapey dream while knitting, but stiffened up a goot bit after washing / blocking . I'm sure (I hope ) it will soften with use.
